Districts begin July 5
Jul 02 2008
The 2008 Little League District baseball tournament hosted by the North Whidbey Little League plays its first game Saturday, July 5, at Fort Nugent Park.
In juniors action, the North Whidbey team plays at 1 p.m. against the South Skagit Nationals.
In the district 9 to 10 all-star tournament, North Whidbey matches up against the South Skagit Nationals in a 1 p.m. game July 6 at Windjammer Park.
Also on July 6, the 10 to 11-year-old tournament has North Whidbey squaring off against the Central Whidbey all-stars in a 10 a.m. game at Windjammer Park.
If the juniors team wins in the opening round, they are idle until 6 p.m. July 7; a loss has them playing at 4 p.m. July 6 against the loser of the Sedro-Woolley/Arlington game.
A win by the 9 to 10-year-olds would pit the team against the winner of the game between Sedro-Woolley and Central Whidbey at 6 p.m. July 8. A loss in the first round would have the local all-stars playing at 6 p.m. July 7 in a loser-out game.
If the 10 to 11-year-old team wins, they play Sedro-Woolley at 3 p.m. July 7, while a loss results in a 6 p.m. game July 9.
The championship game in the juniors tournament will be at 6 p.m. July 11, while the title game for 9 and 10-year-olds and 10 and 11-year-olds will be played July 13 at 3:30 p.m. and July 14 at 6 p.m., respectively.
