Bump more like a brick wall

I normally don’t complain about road work because it needs to be done once in a while. When I stumbled across this article (bumps on Highway 20, News-Times, July 19) it reminded me of last week when we were driving home late from the all star game in Skagit. Boom! It was like hitting a brick wall and nothing was there as if it was invisible.
You would think spending $9.6 million, the road crews would make sure all areas are covered and safe not to mention once we continued down the road past Monroe Landing the confusion got even worse, the flag people were not even directing traffic, they were standing on the side of the road smoking. Now that’s our tax dollars at work!
After viewing my vehicle the next day now I have to replace my front windshield; there’s a crack right up the middle 14 inches long. Please pass along to the contractors doing the work to pay more attention to what they are doing. It could have been worse.
