Island actress needs your vote for ghost flick

May 23 2008

An aspiring actress from Oak Harbor needs the community's help to land a role in a multi-million dollar horror flick.

Shayla Beesley is competing for the lead female role in "Ghosts in the Machine" through a unique audition process. She currently holds the No. 3 spot in a voter-based, online competition. With only three days left, she needs as many people as possible to vote for her.

To vote, go to www.massify.com and create a user account, which is free to do. Then verify the email they send you. Finally, go to Shayla's personal page on the Web site located at www.massify.com/auditions/738 and vote for her.

"I really hope that I can make Oak Harbor proud," she said.

Even without the role, Beesley is having pretty amazing success in Hollywood. The 20-year-old, Strasberg-trained actress has the lead role in the independent film, "Promises," which will be released at Sundance next year. She is the star in the HBO short film, "Trophy," and appeared in other movies.
