Island recognized by Wall Street Journal

Langley got a national nod as a place to visit in Tuesday’s edition of The Wall Street Journal.

In the “Off the Beaten Track” column in the travel section of the Aug. 5 edition, freelance reporter Naomi Karp wrote about Olympic National Park and suggested that travelers heading out of Seattle for a road trip along Highway 101 first take the ferry to Whidbey Island.

Once there, Karp suggested a stop for chocolate in Langley — or Coupeville for its Penn Cove mussels — before taking the Keystone ferry to the Olympic Peninsula.

It’s a suggestion that may be seen by many. The Wall Street Journal has a circulation of more than 2 million copies.
