Register for youth football

Vashon Pirate Youth Football unveils a new look this season with sharp game jerseys that match those of the high school football team. Each youth football player will receive one of these jerseys to wear during the season and keep afterwards.

Registration is open for the fall 2008 season. Youth football welcomes boys and girls who will be entering third to sixth grades in fall 2008. Those who register now can save a spot on the youth football entry in the Strawberry Festival parade, headed by unofficial mayor candidate Paul Wallrof.

Registration forms have been distributed at Chautauqua Elementary School, Carpe Diem Primary School, The Harbor School and Family Link.

For those who need a registration form or have questions about the program, please call Youth Football Board President Paul Wallrof at 567-4073.

Register for

soccer

Register by May 31 for youth soccer through the Vashon Park District, before the fees go up.

It is $70 to register for U-10 and under teams, $115 for U-11 and older teams. Reduced fee applications are available at the Vashon Park District office at Ober Park.

Register online at www.vashonparkdistrict.org.

Early registration is recommended as some teams may fill up — U-14 girls is already full (birth dates between 08/01/94 – 07/31/95). If enough players sign up, two teams may be formed. Kindergarten registration opens Sept. 1.

Water Daze

From 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at Jensen Point, the Vashon Park District is sponsoring Water Daze, an opportunity to try rowing, longboating, kayaking, refreshments and beach fun — all free.
