The Bonney Lake Panthers soccer team had a big week with league wins and then capped it off with a come-from-behind victory against their district rival Sumner Spartans.

The week opened with a 5-1 victory Monday against the Lakes Lancers that featured two goals apiece fromĀ  Tyler John and Dalton Ogdon.

John opened the scoring with a quick goal in the second minute, off an assist by Suilanji Silozi. Silozi picked up a goal of his own in the 11th minute with an assist by Brody Fitzsimmons.

John picked up his second goal, unassisted, in the 33rd minute.

Ogdon added an unassisted goal in the 72nd minute and then kept the scoring going for Bonney Lake with another goal in the 77th minute, this one off an assist from Zach Jones.

The Panthers kept it going Wednesday with a 1-0 win over the Enumclaw Hornets. John scored the goal in the match, an unassisted shot in the 58th minute that keeper Jake Leuders made stand up.

On Friday against the rival Spartans, Sumner's Keyy Ayers opened the scoring in the second minute of an assist by Zach Colman that proved to be the only scoring of the first half.

The goalies stood tall until the 64th minute when John finally broke through for the Panthers off an assist by Bryant Maxey. In the 68th minute, Fitzsimmons went in unassisted to lift Boney Lake to a 2-1 victory in the non-league match.

Bonney Lake was scheduled to play at Peninsula Monday and at home against Decatur today, Wednesday.
