Football playoff preview: Renton

Renton plays at Meadowdale Saturday at 7 p.m.

Meadowdale

Intro: The Mavericks are 9-0 and won the WesCo 3A league.

Best win: Meadowdale topped Glacier Peak with a touchdown in overtime Oct. 2.

Worst loss: none.

Trend: Up. The Mavericks won close in their last game (17-14 Oct. 29 against Everett), but it's hard to be down after an undefeated regular season.

Extra point: Meadowdale might hold the edge in any close contest with two overtime wins already, plus a 10-point, fourth quarter comeback.

Bottom line: Meadowdale hasn't looked dominating with two close wins out of the past three, but that does make the team battle-tested. Renton's offense seems like the biggest factor in this game. Can the Indians get the passing game going?
