Girls basketball: Liberty, Lindbergh, Hazen and Renton High all win

Liberty topped Spanaway Lake 61-36 in a non-league game Saturday.

Corinna Van Hurston led Liberty (10-1 overall, 3-0 KingCo) with 11 points. Katie Growden scored 10 points.

Liberty 61, Fife 32

With anther strong defensive effort, Liberty beat Fife 61-32 Friday night.

The Patriots allowed just 11 first quarter points to Fife in the non-league game. Growden led Liberty with 14 points. Breanne Faehnrich scored 11. Alexis Court and Van Hurston each scored 10.

Danni Sjolander collected 11 rebounds and Rayssa Lira grabbed eight steals.

Lindbergh 44, Foster 38

Lindbergh closed with a fury to beat Foster 44-38 Friday night.

The Eagles (4-4, 3-2 Seamount) scored 25 points in the fourth quarter to overcome an 11-point deficit and take the league win.

Marcissa McMillan led Lindbergh with 15 points, 17 rebounds, eight blocks and seven steals. Jordan Halingstad scored 12 points. Brandi Lindsay scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Hazen 66, Highline 43

Hazen jumped out to a 21-2 lead over Highline and never game the Pirates a chance. The Highlanders won 66-43 Friday night.

Hazen (5-3, 3-2) led 55-21 through three quarters. Airashay Rogers led all scorers with 27 points. Rogers collected nine steals. Michelle Wnek scored 12 points and grabbed six steals. Gina Kirklin and Darralita Taylor each scored 10.

Renton 50, Evergreen 28

Renton leaned on strong defense to beat Evergreen 50-28 Friday.

The Indians (2-4, 2-3) led by four points at the half, then outscored the Wolverines 18-0 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

Paris Lark led Renton with 10 points. Addyson Stowers scored nine. Kelsey Sparks scored eight.
