RTC receives grant for Allied Health scholarships
Dec 30 2008
The Renton Technical College (RTC) Foundation has received a grant from the Franciscan Foundation for $10,000 to create a new endowed scholarship for the Allied Health students.
A new $1,000 scholarship will be available for spring quarter.
This grant serves a part of the “Scholarship for Every Program” effort by the RTC Foundation.
The Franciscan Foundation has recognized RTC’s strong placement program with the Franciscan Health System Hospitals and plans to help build this endowment with additional funds over time. This is the first endowment for the Allied Health department.
The Franciscan Health System is a comprehensive health care organization that includes St. Joseph Medical Center of Tacoma, St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, Enumclaw Regional Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor (opening in 2009), Franciscan Medical Group clinics in Pierce, King and Kitsap counties and Franciscan Hospice House in University Place.
