Auction raises about $20,000 for Communities in Schools of Renton
Oct 08 2008
About 200 people attended the annual benefit dinner and auction for Communities in Schools of Renton Thursday night at Renton Senior Activity Center. About $20,000 was raised for the nonprofit during the event.
“It was good; everybody had a good time,” said Erin Iverson, mentor program manager.
Guests were served an Ivar’s salmon dinner. Entertainment included guest speaker John Lovick, a mentor and Snohomish County sheriff, and musical guests Haben Abraham and her sisters Lianda and Salina, who go by the name EriAm (short for Eritrean-American, their heritage).
New executive director Sari Pascoe also gave a speech.
Communities in Schools of Renton supports Renton families and students with family liaison and mentor programs. For more information, visit www.renton.ciswa.org or call Executive Director Sari Pascoe at 425-430-6656.
