AMC-Kent Station to show 'Doctors Without Borders' documentary

Kent moviegoers will get a chance to watch the documentary “Living in Emergency: Stories of Doctors Without Borders,” at a special one-night event at 8 p.m. Dec. 14 at the AMC-Kent Station 14 theaters.

Doctors Without Borders gave a documentary crew unlimited and uncensored access to its field operations in war-torn Congo and post-conflict Liberia. The documentary, rated PG-13, interweaves the stories of four doctors who are forced to confront the limits of their idealism in the face of overwhelming medical needs.

Following the documentary, Elizabeth Vargas, anchor of the ABC News show 20/20, will moderate a town-hall discussion with frontline aid workers and award-winning journalists, including Sebastian Junger, best-selling author of “The Perfect Storm.” The town hall will be live on the East Coast, but tape delayed on the West Coast.

More than 440 theaters nationwide will show the documentary Dec. 14.
