ELECTION RESULTS: Robertson leads Morgan in judicial race; Freeman edging Noble-Gulliford for council seat

Election results were taken from the King County Elections Web site at http://kingcounty.gov/elections. The following results were last updated at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5. About 28 percent of ballots had been counted at press time.

Federal Way City Council, position 6

• Roger Freeman: 5,203 (52.45 percent)

• Diana Noble-Gulliford: 4,706 (47.44 percent)

• Notes: This would be Freeman's first term in an elected office. In 2007, he ran for the city council against current Mayor Jack Dovey.

Federal Way City Council, position 4

• Mike Peterson: 3,527 (34.93 percent)

• Jeanne Burbidge: 6,559 (64.97 percent)

• Notes: This will be Burbidge's fourth term on the city council. She was first elected in 1997.

Federal Way City Council, position 2

• Sonia Sciscente: 2,185 (22.09 percent)

• Linda Kochmar: 7,689 (77.73 percent)

• Notes: This will be Kochmar's fourth term on the city council. She was first elected in 1997.

Federal Way Municipal Court judge, position 1

• Michael Morgan: 3,996 (40.32 percent)

• Rebecca Robertson: 5,892 (59.46 percent)

• Notes: Morgan, the incumbent judge, conceded the race on Wednesday. "I want to offer my congratulations to Ms. Robertson and offer any assistance I can provide as she makes her transition to the bench," he said in an e-mail. Robertson is a prosecuting attorney from Seattle who will take office in January 2010.

Federal Way Municipal Court judge, position 2

• David Larson: 6,590 (66.32 percent)

• Renee Walls: 3,331 (33.52 percent)

• Notes: Larson, a former Federal Way School Board member, was appointed to be the city's second judge in 2008. He has now been elected to a first official four-year term.

Federal Way School Board, position 1

• Bill Pirkle: 5,823 (40.11 percent)

• Ed Barney: 8,640 (59.51 percent)

• Notes: This will be Barney's third term on the school board. He was first elected in 2001.

Federal Way School Board, position 4

• Steve Skipper: 5,436 (37.17 percent)

• Angela Griffin: 9,152 (62.59 percent)

• Notes: Griffin was appointed to the school board in 2008, and has now been elected to a first official four-year term.

Lakehaven Utility District commissioner position 1

• Leonard Englund: 7,092 (53.48 percent)

• Ronald Hall: 6,131 (46.23 percent)

• Notes: Englund was appointed to the board last spring following the resignation of Bev Tweddle. This is his first elected office.

South King Fire and Rescue commissioner position 3

• J. Roger Hershey: 5,781 (35.94 percent)

• John Rickert: 10,276 (63.89 percent)

• Notes: Rickert was previously on the fire board, but lost his seat to commissioner Bill Gates when the board dropped one position after the merger between the Federal Way and Des Moines fire departments. Hershey leaves after 12 years on the board.

Proposition 1 (elected mayor initiative)

• Yes: 5,406 (51.43 percent)

• No: 5,105 (48.57 percent)

• Notes: Proposition 1 would change Federal Way's form of government to one that transfers the administrative responsibilities of a city manager to an elected mayor.

King County Executive (countywide)

• Dow Constantine: 211,120 (58.12 percent)

• Susan Hutchison: 151,374 41.67 (percent)

Initiative 1033 (statewide, Tim Eyman's tax measure)

• Yes: 110,678 (32.37 percent)

• No: 231,265 (67.63 percent)

Referendum 71 (statewide, domestic partnership bill)

• Approved: 249,486 (67.26 percent)

• Rejected: 121,458 (32.74 percent)
