Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus will visit The Commons mall, 1928 S. Commons, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 6. Federal Way police and the Washington State Patrol will also be in attendance to collect donations for the Law Enforcement Torch Run Campaign for Special Olympics Washington.

Photos with Santa and an opportunity to view police vehicles and motorcycles will be offered in the southwest corner of the Sears parking lot, near South 324th Street and Pacific Highway South. A homemade sleigh, donated by Burien resident Dave Eady, will serve as a prop for the photographs.

A complimentary chair massage by Touch of Grace Massage will be offered. All proceeds from the Santa Photos will be donated directly to local Special Olympics programs. Donors will receive a copy of their Santa photo sent to an email address of their choice.

Music teacher honored

The Lakeland PTA honored music teacher Cary Stanton for her 25 years of service on Nov. 20, after a school concert.

Decatur brings out the wreaths

Decatur Horticulture has holiday plants and wreaths available in their greenhouse. The greenhouse will be open on Dec. 5 from noon to 5 p.m., Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon and from Dec. 8-10 and 12-16, from 7 a.m. to noon.

‘Aladdin’ runs through Dec. 21

“Aladdin — An English Panto!” will run 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays as well as 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, through Dec. 21, at the Knutzen Family Theatre, 3200 SW Dash Point Road. Tickets are $8-$25. (253) 835-2020 and www.kftevents.com.

Giving Tree: Multi-Service Center and DeVry University Federal Way are partnering for “The Giving Tree” toy drive. Donations can be dropped off 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 1 through Dec. 5 at the DeVry campus, 3600 S. 344th Way. Another drop-off will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at Target at The Commons mall. Gifts can include toys, games, radios, CD players, sports equipment, books, backpacks and clothing. E-mail bhenderson@devry.edu.
