Federal Way City Clerk says goodbye

City Clerk Laura Hathaway said her goodbye to Federal Way on July 15. Hathaway has worked for the city nearly four and a half years. She previously served as Deputy City Clerk.
Her actions as City Clerk were most noticeable by the public at the city council’s twice-monthly meetings, where she took the record. Hathaway will move to Las Vegas to be with her husband, who received a new job in the city and has been living there since April.
She has not found employment there and is waiting to look until she and her husband enroll their 6-year-old son in school.
Hathaway will miss most working with the Federal Way City Council, she said.
“If I wasn’t moving out of state I wouldn’t be leaving here,” Hathaway said. “I would not even be looking (for another job).”
