Gallery 2009 presenting “A Taste of Italy” through Aug. 4

The city of Enumclaw Gallery 2009 presents photographer Lea Bishop and “A Taste of Italy.” The exhibit opens today, Wednesday and continues through Aug. 4 at City Hall.
Bishop is an Enumclaw artist who has shown at City Hall several times during the past five years. According to city of Enumclaw Cultural Programs Manager, her work invites everyone to travel and enjoy the beauty of the earth.
With 14 years of experience creating film photography, and seven years producing digital photography, her skills are highly refined and the photographs are a wonderful expression of her technical skill, and her artistic sensibilities.
A meet-the-artist reception is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. July 10 at City Hall.
In discussing her photographs for a city press release, Bishop said: “In combining my love of traveling and my love of photography, I try to convey the culture of each country I visit through photos. Ansel Adams’ quote is one that exemplifies what I try to do with photography.
“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.”

Bishop’s exhibitions include the Canterbury Faire Juried Art Show, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006; Kent Arts Commission Gallery, 2004; Enumclaw Gallery 2006; Auburn City Hall Gallery, 2006; Maple Valley Days Juried Art Festival; BaseCamp; Edward Jones – Maple Valley; Lea Bishop Photo Image 2009 City of Auburn Senior Activity Center; Green River Community College Enumclaw Campus Art Gallery; and Auburn Good Ol’ Days.
Gallery 2009 is located in the Council Chambers at Enumclaw City Hall, 1339 Griffin Ave. Enumclaw, WA 98022.
Hours for the exhibition space are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enumclaw City Hall is closed on national holidays.
The gallery is closed to the public on Tuesday of each week for municipal court proceedings.
