• Accomplishment: Smith, a 6-foot-10, 285-pound center, scored 32 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and swatted 13 shots, leading Kentwood to a 68-47 season-opening win over Kent-Meridian.

LINDSEY MOORE
Kentwood
• Grade: Senior.
• Sport: Basketball.
• Accomplishment: Moore scored a team-high 18 points, leading Kentwood past St. Mary’s of Stockton Calif. 74-67 in the championship game of the Nike Northwest Invitational last Saturday.
• Favorite class: Leadership.
• Favorite movie: What happens in Vegas.
• Most recent book read/author: “A Prayer for Owen Meany” by John Irving.
• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (Pro basketball player) Jason Kidd and we would have some barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes and corn bread.
• Also noted: Moore, who was the SPSL North MVP a year ago, has accepted a full-ride scholarship to play next fall at the University of Nebraska.
ERIN McCASLIN

• Grade: Junior.
• Sport: Basketball.
• Accomplishment: McCaslin, one of the SPSL North’s top-returning players, scored double figures in consecutive games — 13 in the first, 14 in the second — leading Tahoma past Decatur (50-38) and Renton (52-40) last week.
• Favorite class: Retail operations.
• Favorite movie: Coach Carter.
• Most recent book read/author: “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite Michael Jordan and the Tahoma girls basketball team to play Wii tennis and eat chicken soft tacos.
• Notable: McCaslin, who carries a 4.0 grade-point average, plans to attend a four-year university and play basketball after high school.

• Sport: Wrestling.
• Accomplishment: Carrillo won the 140-pound championship at last weekend’s Decatur Invitational.

• Accomplishment: Comstock delivered double figures in scoring in consecutive games — 13 in the first, 10 in the second — leading Kentlake past Kentridge (47-35) and Central Kitsap (46-29) last week.

• Favorite movie: The Goofy Movie, The Sandlot, Space James and Coach Carter.
