Rui Li, who stars for the Kentwood High golf team, won the girls 16-17 age division with a 1-under-par 71 in the final Washington Junior Golf Association District Six sub-district tournament last Monday at Lipoma Firs Golf Course in Puyallup.

Three other golfers from Kent qualified for district during the competition at Lipoma Firs. Andrew Herron shot a 4-over 76 to tie for fifth place in the boys 16-17 age division, and Tyler Clavin qualified in that same division with a 79, placing ninth.

In the 12-13 girls division, Catherina Li of Kent made it 3 for 3 in sub-district play. This time, the 12-year-old Li won by 19 strokes, posting a 79. In her three sub-district tournaments, Li won by a combined 61 shots.

TENNIS: Kent player picked for leadership camp in D.C.
