The Kent and Maple Valley fire departments responded to a house fire at 6:45 a.m. this morning in the 19200 block of S.E.267th Street, the Timberlane area of Covington.

The home was unoccupied and there were no reported injuries.

According to fire investigators, the cause of the fire was accidental and undetermined. The fire was determined to not be arson, but could not be pinned to one certain cause.

The damage estimate has been set at $110,000.

The fire was first reported by neighbors.

While firefighters from Kent and Maple Valley arrived quickly, the fire had already burned through the roof sending smoke and flames high into the air.

The Kent Fire Department reported no one was living in the home, but there were reports of people illegally entering the home in the past.

Other nearby homes were not affected by the fire. Several people were trapped in their driveways because of the fire engines and hoses spread across the streets.

The fire department reported firefighters helped the residents get to their destinations as soon as it was safe.

Two units responded from Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety, Battalion 81 and engine 83.
