Maple Valley holiday lights celebration set for Dec. 2 at Lake Wilderness Park

The 12th annual city of Maple Valley community lighting and holiday party is planned for 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at Lake Wilderness Park, lodge and arboretum.

There will be thousands of festive lights, creative displays, refreshments and familiar sounds of the holidays.

Free rides will be available through the display on the Holiday Express trackless train and the fun hay ride. Holiday entertainment for the evening will be provided by the roving Dickens Carolers, Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Tahoma High School Chamber Choir. The Greater Maple Valley Community Center’s Children & Family Services will be hosting hands on crafts for the children and Santa Claus will arrive riding the Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety Holiday Engine with a candy cane for all.

Parking for the public will be available in the lighted lower main parking lot by the beach with a lighted walkway to the activities happening in and around the lodge

Canned food, new toys and cash donations for the Maple Valley Food Bank will be accepted during the event.

The Parks & Recreation Department invites anyone 14 or over who would like to volunteer for the event to call 425-413-8800 ext. 200.
