Between Nov. 2 and Nov. 8, the Valley Regional Fire Authority received 191 requests for service, among them the following:

Nov. 2

Aid call: 11:16 a.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to the Federal Aviation Administration Center to help a man who had fallen ill. After firefighters and paramedics looked the man over, American Medical Response (AMR) transported him to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

Nov. 3

Anxiety: 11:29 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters helped a man who was complaining of high blood pressure. Firefighters examined the man, and after reassuring him that his blood pressure was indeed normal, they left him at home with his wife.

Nov. 4

Water removal: 4:54 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a flooding problem on the 1300 block of 17th Street Southeast found a water pipe that had broken from a wall in an apartment bathroom and was flooding the apartment and the one next door. Firefighters shut the water off and removed the water.

Nov. 5

Aid call: 12:27 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and King County Medics examined a patient, gender not given, who was unconscious after falling. Following the exam and history, he or she agreed to let doctors at St. Francis Medical Center check him or her out and family members transported him or her there.

Nov. 6

Aid call: 6:09 p.m., (Lea Hill). Before firefighters arrived, the quick acting staff of Wesley Home helped a choking victim with the “Heimlich” and got the obstruction out of there. Firefighters found the man in stable condition, and American Medical Response transported him to ARMC.

Nov. 7

Aid call: 1:29 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters examined, treated and helped a female who had fallen at the Super Mall. A private car brought the girl or woman to ARMC.

Nov. 8

Aid call: 9 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority and paramedics with King County Medic One responded to a report of a man who had fallen off the roof of a home while he was replacing the existing roof. On arrival, crews provided basic and advanced life support to the seriously-injured man before arranging for transport to Harborview Medical Center by Airlift Northwest Helicopter.
