Open house set for Jacobsen Tree Farm Master Park planning effort Oct. 7
Sep 24 2009
The public is cordially invited to attend an open house to discuss the upcoming Master Park planning efforts for the Jacobsen Tree Farm park site. The meeting will take place 7-8 p.m., Oct. 7 at Arthur Jacobsen Elementary School, located at 29205 132nd Ave. SE.
The undeveloped property, originally operated as a tree farm by the Jacobsen family, was transferred to the City of Auburn in 2003. The 30-acre site is located adjacent to the elementary school and has spectacular views of Mount Rainier.
The purpose of the open house will be to begin a discussion for the park design; present several site planning concepts to interested individuals; solicit input from the Lea Hill Community and other park users as to the vision of how the site can be used; and answer general questions about the project.
At this meeting the public also will have an opportunity to discuss community safety concerns with Mayor Pete Lewis and City representatives from police, emergency preparedness and transportation. Information will be available about City services and programs such as block watch, map your neighborhood, Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT), recycling and land use planning.
