Auburn to host 3rd annual Community Disaster Preparedness Fair on Sept. 26

The City of Auburn Emergency Management Office is promoting National Disaster Preparedness month by hosting Auburn's third annual Disaster Fair on Sept. 26 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Les Gove Community Campus, 1020 Deal’s Way SE.

The fair is sponsored by the City of Auburn and the White River Valley Citizen Corps Council. The event will provide disaster preparedness information, ideas and supplies for families and individuals.

There will be events and activities for the public, including informational booths, vendor booths, disaster response demonstrations, sand bag training, face painting, hands-on activities for kids and adults, preparedness information and a flood plain demonstration by the Army Corps of Engineers. Door prizes will be given away hourly.

Experts also will be on hand to discuss issues surrounding potential flooding from the Green River and to provide information to businesses regarding contingency and continuity planning.
