Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service between Dec. 21 and Dec. 28:
DEC. 21
Home burglary: 8:08 a.m., 900 block of 7th Street Southeast. A male individual, age a police mystery, told police that somebody swiped his XBOX 360 from inside his bedroom. Police did not disclose a value.
DEC. 24
Theft of property: 11:45 a.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Somebody stole an undisclosed amount of money from a safe at the As Seen on TV store at the Supermall.
Theft of motorcycle: Overnight, 900 block of 8th Street Southeast. Somebody swiped a Yamaha PW50 overnight from the backyard of a home in south Auburn. Police did not disclose a value for the missing bike.
Theft: 12 p.m., 1500 block of 8th Street Northeast. Suspecting a former employee of skimming money after sales to customers between Sept. 1 and Nov. 15, the owner of an unidentified store reported an inside burglary. Police did not disclose the value.
Vandalism: 1:22 p.m., 700 West Valley Highway S. An unknown person broke out windows of two vehicles parked at a Park & Ride.
Burglary: 4200 block of 47th Street Southeast. A man told police that he suspects his son of breaking into his home and swiping a $1,000 laptop computer. The son does not live there, and dad has told him he isn’t welcome.
Assault by spittal: 5:55 p.m., 202 N. Division St. A man reported that an unknown woman hocked a loogie at him while he was at Auburn Regional Medical Center. No explanation was offered.
Impatient: 7: 34 p.m., 202 N. Division St. An unknown male, age yet one more of those Auburn police mysteries, threatened to fetch his gun when his female companion could not be seen fast enough to suit him in the emergency room at Auburn Regional Medical Center. By the time police arrived, the man and his gal were gone.
DEC. 25
Theft: 6:02 p.m., 1300 block of Auburn Way North. A woman reported that somebody stole $500 from her bank account, via an ATM machine after she forgot her debit card in the machine and left.
DEC. 26
Theft from car: 10:04 a.m., 2500 block of D Street Southeast. Somebody stole unidentified items of unknown value from a car parked at the Sierra Meadow Apartments.
Assault: 10:40 a.m., 2400 block of Auburn Way North. Police arrested a woman for assaulting her ex-flame, whom she says is now just a roommate.
Theft: 4:50 p.m., 3302 Auburn Way N. Somebody stole four tires of undisclosed value from Midas. Somebody saw it happen, but police could not find the thief.
Assault: 6:15 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. The manager, gender undisclosed, of Go Games & Toys at the Supermall complained that a customer had assaulted him or her in some way, resulting, perhaps, in injuries, or then again, maybe none.
Theft from vehicle:
6:43 p.m., 620 Auburn Way S. Two vehicles parked in front of several eateries in the 600 block of Auburn Way South sustained shattered windows and the loss of several undefined items. Nobody knows who did it, despite the timing during a high-volume business period.
DEC. 28
Burglary: 7 a.m., 1400 block of G Street Southeast. A man told police that somebody burglarized his home overnight while his children lay asleep in the living room. Police did not say if items were actually taken.
Shoplifting: 11:07 a.m., 2900 block of Auburn Way South. Somebody – store security, shoppers, police didn’t say – spotted two persons – genders not given – shoplifting items – not specified – from an unnamed grocery store. Police contacted these shoplifters outside the unnamed store, one of whom they found in possession of the unspecified items and so took into custody. Police released the second person, possibly a lookout, and referred his or her case to prosecutors.
Home burglary: 6:23 p.m., 900 block of 6th Street Southeast. A person doing remodeling work for his or her landlord told police that while he or she was away on vacation for three weeks somebody entered the empty home he or she was working on and swiped several pricey power tools.
Car theft: 6:40 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way. Somebody stole a woman’s car outside a store on the west side of the Supermall, then left it on the east side 30 minutes later while the owner was shopping in the mall. Missing was a purse containing two $100 bills, U.S. Immigration resident alien cards, Mexican passports, bank debit cards, and a sporty new baseball cap.
Assault: 9:46 p.m., 500 block of A Street Southeast. A man recently released from prison assaulted his new girlfriend by jerking her by her hair and smacking her on the face while they were riding in a car driven by the ex-con’s niece. Once the injured girlfriend was let out of the vehicle, the boyfriend of the niece drove the ex-con away to keep police from arresting him. Police arrested the ex-con’s niece after she lied numerous times to them. Police cited the ex-con through the prosecutor’s office for domestic assault and her boyfriend for helping the bad man in his flight from the law.
Strong arm robbery: 11:17 p.m., 12700 block of Southeast 312th Street. A female reported that she and her two friends were assaulted and robbed as they were crossing the street. Police described the suspects as four black males wearing dark clothing with bandanas over their faces. The victims received minor cuts, but refused medical attention.
Resisting, interfering with police: 1:41 a.m., 200 block of 37th Street Southeast. Police arrested a man for failing to stop for a traffic infraction. then charged him with obstruction for trying to jump out of the vehicle window and for resisting arrest when he fought off attempts to place him into custody. Nobody was hurt.
