Police blotter
Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between Nov. 13 and Nov. 15:
NOV. 13
Home burglary: 6:15 a.m., 1700 block of C Street Southeast. Police arrested a woman for breaking a window and illegally entering her ex-girlfriend’s home. Police subsequently learned that the woman had also broken into the house some 20 minutes earlier, assaulted her former sweetheart and stolen $600 in cash. Police arrested the woman.
Controlled substance: 2:46 p.m., 3300 block of I Street Northeast. A woman told police that her ex-boyfriend grabbed her around the throat and pulled her hair. While police were arresting the man, they found inside his coat pocket several small packages of marijuana and ecstasy pills, a find that added to his legal woes.
Controlled substance: 6:07 p.m., 500 block of 12th Street Southeast. Police arrested a man on Auburn warrants while he was eating a free meal at a local church. While they were searching the man, he remarked that he had “bud” in his pants pocket. Police seized a baggie with marijuana from his pants pocket, netting him an additional charge.
Burglary: 3:10 p.m., 2100 block of Riverview Drive Northeast. A resident of Riverview Drive Northeast reported that somebody had entered her home and stolen some wine, checks, and a bottle of old prescription pills.
Theft from building: 7 p.m., 801 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a woman for felony theft after she tried to shoplift $755 of unidentified merchandise from the local Fred Meyer store. She also had a Federal Way Police Department warrant for theft. Police discovered on her person a crack pipe plus anti depressant pills for which she had no prescription.
NOV. 14
Assault: 1:49 p.m., 1015 24th St. N.E. A student at Cascade Middle School assaulted a teacher, got himself suspended from school and is being
charged with assault.
Assault: 2:06 p.m., 900 block of Auburn Way North. Police arrested a boy after he assaulted another youth during a dispute and then ran from police during the investigation.
Harassment: 6:16 p.m., 2300 block of N Street Northeast. Police arrested a man for harassment after he went to his ex-girlfriend’s home and threatened to beat her up.
DUI: 9:39 p.m., 1005 12th St. N.E. Police arrested an 18-year-old man for DUI, reckless driving, trespassing and being a minor in possession of some mind-altering substance after he drove into Les Gove park from 12th Street Southeast and rolled his vehicle. Soon, the vehicle caught fire. Results from a breath test were .187 and .177, more than twice the legal limit.
NOV. 15
Vandalism: 1:14 p.m., 700 block of 22nd Street Northeast. A youth, ticked off by his sister who had asked him to turn down his music, took his frustration out by going berserk on her bathroom door and mirror.
Cops helping cops: 2:29 a.m., 222 S. Central Ave., Kent. A man fled from a commercial burglary at Stupid Prices in Kent, but Auburn K9 caught up with him, putting at least a temporary stopper on his criminal ways.
