Auburn’s Don Stevenson is walking 13,000 miles to raise awareness and funds for Huntington’s disease. He left Seattle last week to complete the final 3,000-mile leg to New York City.

Stevenson, 72, the “Pacin’ Parson,” hopes to raise more than $20,000 for HD, an inherited, progressively degenerative brain disorder.

Start: Space Needle, Seattle, April 26

Finish: New York City’s Empire State Building, Sept. 15.

En route: To Spokane, following U.S. Highway 2.

Quotable: “I’m rested and feeling fine for the long journey.”
