Patriotic, holiday concert on tap for APAC
Nov 30 2009
The 133rd Army Band of the Washington National Guard with the Auburn Mountain View High School Choir will perform a Red, White & Blue Holiday Concert on Saturday. The free community concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, 700 E. Main St.
The City of Auburn Arts Commission salutes the holidays with the concert, presented as part of its Bravo performing arts series. The program is a festive, rousing concert of patriotic music honoring troops, along with holiday tune favorites and carols.
Stationed at Tacoma’s Camp Murray, the 133rd Army Band of the Washington National Guard is a dynamic group of 50 musician-soldiers who perform a wide repertoire featuring traditional marches, jazz standards and patriotic tunes at various events around Puget Sound. Each year the band hosts the Red, White & Blue Holiday Concert in Auburn, and invites another military band based in the Northwest to join them in concert.
A ticket is required and is available with a suggested donation of non-perishable food items benefiting the Auburn Food Bank. Free tickets are available in advance through Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation, 910 Ninth St. SE. Limit six tickets per person.
