Pacific receives some welcomed wheels

Jun 18 2009

King County Councilman Pete von Reichbauer, left, visited the City of Pacific on June 9 to officially donate a van to the Pacific/Algona Youth program. Joining von Reichbauer for the occasion were Joanne Futch, Pacific’s youth program director, and Pacific Mayor Richard Hildreth.

A longtime supporter of community services in Pacific, von Reichbauer was able to secure the van from Metro to replace an aging one obtained in 2004. The Pacific/Algona Community Center will use the van for many of its youth programs – from transport for the tiny tots program to summer field trips.

“The city is grateful to the councilman for this contribution to the quality of life of our community and our youth,” Hildreth said.
