Chamber elects board members for '09-10

Apr 03 2009

Rod Luke, assistant superintendent of student learning with the Auburn School District, was elected chairman of the board for the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce.

Luke was one of three officers elected recently by the Chamber’s board of directors for the 2009-10 year.

Terry Davis, director of government affairs/franchising with Comcast, was selected first vice chair, and Ron Copple, owner of Copple Insurance Group, will serve as second vice chair.

“We are pleased to see the caliber of individuals stepping up to lead our Chamber,” said Nancy Wyatt, president & COO for the Chamber. “It is under their guidance and direction that the Chamber is able to offer a diverse range of programs and services for our members.”

Established in 1925, the Chamber has been serving the communities of Auburn, Algona, Pacific and unincorporated south King County for 84 years.

The Chamber is a private, not-for-profit, member-supported, volunteer-led organization. The primary purpose is to focus and direct the resources of the business community to maintain and expand commerce in our region.

The Chamber has 570-plus business partners and is governed by a 21-member Board of Directors. The professional staff consists of three full-time, one part-time employee and three contractors who carry out the program of work as established by the board.
