Post-season play begins today for the Friday Harbor soccer team.
The Wolverines (13-4), who defeated La Conner Tuesday for the Northwest 1A/2B title, enter the District 1 playoffs as the Northwest region's top-seeded team. They can clinch a berth at the upcoming Tri-District playoffs with a victory in their first match at districts.
The Wolverines will open post-season play against the winner of Wednesday's District 1 opening round match up between Coupeville (4-12) and Meridian (2-13), the No. 3 seeded team of the 1A Northwest conference. That match begins at 1 p.m. at Oak Harbor High School.
With a win, they would advance to Saturday's District 1 title game, also at Oak Harbor High School, which begins at 2 p.m.
Should they lose to the winner of the Coupeville and Meridian match up, the Wolverines would still have a chance to gain a berth at Tri-District with a victory in the District 1 consolation final, which takes place at noon on Saturday at Oak Harbor.
