Supports Lacher for mayor of Friday Harbor

Sep 29 2009

The recent letter from Jill Meyer was outrageous ("Not the kind of 'Pennywatching' to brag about," Sept. 22 SanJuanJournal.com).

Do we really need this personal nastiness in Friday Harbor?

Just to clear the record: Carrie Lacher sold her town clothing shop in 2001 — hardly a financial failure.

She is also still employed as a bookkeeper for the same local Catholic church — certainly an endorsement of her bookkeeping skills.

Want to know what Carrie Lacher’s leadership might be like as mayor of Friday Harbor? Watch her on public access television — she has been a council member there for two years. Or, better yet, attend a town council meeting.

Carrie is smart, committed, and passionate about working in behalf of town residents. That’s why I have volunteered to work on her campaign and to encourage others to vote for her.
