Gaylord says Ogle’s death ruled accidental

May 21 2008

Christopher Ogle’s death has been ruled accidental, Prosecuting Attorney Randy Gaylord said last week.

Ogle, a San Juan Island painting contractor, was found dead Feb. 2 in his pickup truck, the front of which was partially submerged in a pond on private property off Egg Lake Road. He had been reported missing Jan. 4.

Gaylord said the Snohomish County Medical Examiner determined Ogle died of acute intoxication of a variety of substances, including cocaine, oxycodone and methadone.

Family members said Ogle had battled with health issues. But Gaylord said Ogle left no note and made no statements to anyone indicating he intended to commit suicide. The day he disappeared, he had talked to an employee and gave instruction regarding payroll.
