Michael Jean Carpentier and Sidney S. Smith were married Sept. 27 in Friday Harbor Presbyterian Church. Pastor Archie Brooks of Transformation Church officiated.
The groom’s brother, Michael Case-Smith, was best man. The bride's daughter, Brandy Carpentier, was maid of honor. Dave Champlin gave the bride away. The bride’s son, Jedediah Carpentier, played the piano and violin for the ceremony.
A reception followed at the Grange. The couple honeymooned for a week in Flathead Lake in Montana.
Mr. Smith is the proprietor of San Juan Air Maintenance, which he has owned and operated for 16 years on the island. He is also on staff at the Healing Rooms.
Mrs. Smith is on the town Historic Preservation Review Board and has a music and Bible study ministry at Islands Convalescent Center.
