Kiwanis Club is collecting Christmas toys
Dec 12 2008
For more than 10 years, as part of their continuing contribution to the community and to the spirit of the season, the Kiwanis Club of Friday Harbor has helped local families in need with Christmas buying for their children by collecting gifts for giving.
This year, with economic conditions tougher than in recent memory, this need is anticipated to be especially great. Kiwanis invites all islanders to open their hearts by donating gifts for those who have experienced difficulties which have diminished their ability to provide gifts for their children.
Families request, and especially appreciate, books, educational toys and clothing. All items should be new and unwrapped, and can be of any size or value. Drop your gifts into one of the big, gift wrapped boxes at any Friday Harbor bank, the County Courthouse, and Friday Harbor Drug.
The Kiwanis Club is also accepting cash donations which will be used to buy clothes and books for children. These can be sent to Kiwanis Club of Friday Harbor, P.O. Box 814, Friday Harbor 98250.
Families who need a little help with holiday gifts for their children can call the Santa Hotline at 378-1534. All hotline information is strictly confidential.
