Results from Tuesday’s election will be available Wednesday on islandsweekly.net.

The election will decide the race for San Juan County sheriff. Bill Cumming is seeking a fifth term; his lead detective, Jeff Asher, is challenging him.

Voters are also deciding which Republican candidates will be on the Nov. 5 ballot for County Commission and Congress. The Democratic candidates were unopposed in the primary.

Polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.
