Artworks features paintings by Josie Barrow
Sep 03 2008
The Orcas Island Artworks features “Flowers with a View,” a series of pastel paintings by Josie Barrow, through the month of September.
Josie’s cheerful and colorful paintings combine her love for the landscape with her love for flowers and gardening. “I look at something that intrigues me and give it a few twists and turns,” she says. “I am inspired by the world around me, but I paint fiction.”
Josie studied fashion design at the University of Washington and watercolor with Caroline Buchanan, later branching out into acrylics and pastels. She has lived on Orcas nearly twenty years.
The Artworks is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
