Handful of Auburn-Riverside baseball squad members make 3A all-star team

Baseball players named to SPSL 3A all-league squad

Several members of the Auburn Riverside and Sumner baseball team’s were named to the South Puget Sound League 3A division all-star team this past week.

For the Ravens, sophomore Sean Rehon was honored as the league’s Most Valuable Player.

Also honored from Auburn Riverside were senior Mario Marchitto, who earned honorable mention as a pitcher and an outfielder.

Senior Kyle Bray was selected as a second team first baseman and senior Scott Schuman was picked to the second team as a second baseman.

Senior Josh Hudson earned a second team nod for his play at shortstop and junior Joe Briggs was an honorable mention at third base.

For Sumner senior Ethan Ramberg was picked as an honorable mention as a pitcher, as well as honorable mention as a second baseman.

Sophomore Alex Sloun was selected as a first team catcher and senior Conor Cook as a second team outfielder.

Senior Zack Pleasants earned an honorable mention as an outfielder. Senior Drew Monroe rounded out the Spartans selected with an honorable mention as a shortstop.

Spartan athletes move on to college athletic programs next year

Several Sumner seniors will get a shot at playing athletics at the next level, after graduation this summer.

Jordan Daniels and Nick Sims will both look to play soccer Pacific Lutheran University.

Volleyball standout Courtney Smith will attend the University of Great Falls in Montana on a partial athletic scholarship.

Swimmer Katie Hendricks will attend the University of Idaho on a partial swimming scholarship.

Spartan quarterback Derek Robinson will move on the University of Colorado-Pueblo as a walk-on.

Fastpitch athlete Alicia Macklin will attend Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian College next season on a partial scholarship.

Conor Cook will look to earn a spot on the Green River Community College Gator baseball team as walk-on. Teammate Zach Pleasants will do the same at Yakima Valley Community College.

Offensive lineman Victor Ognoskie and Ken Scholz will both tryout for the Lewis and Clark College in Oregon football team next season as walk-ons.
