The following is a partial list of Sumner Police Department activity from July 18 to July 24:

July 24

Trespassing

Police were called to the 5600 block of Graham Avenue for report of a trespasser.

July 23

Obstructing

Police pulled over a car near the corner of Graham Avenue and Washington Street for failure to stop at a stop sign. Four people in the car were not wearing seat belts. One in the group provided a false name and was booked into Puyallup.

Shoplifting

Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Valley Avenue for a report of shoplifting.

Theft

Police are investigating a theft of copper from the 12300 block of Valley Avenue.

July 22

Shoplifting

Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Valley Avenue for a report of shoplifting.

July 21

Trespassing

Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Valley Avenue for a report of trespassing.

Forgery

Police are investigating a report of internet forgery after an individual discovered their bank froze their debit card due to questionable purchases made online without the owner’s permission.

Malicious mischief

Officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of 142nd Avenue for a report of vandalism after a security guard found a glass door smashed, apparently with a rock.

July 20

Theft

Police were called to the 600 block of Wood Avenue for a report of a theft.

Malicious mischief

Sometime during the night, a traffic cone was thrown through the window of an office in the 1500 block of 45th Street.

Theft from yards

A bicycle was stolen from the side of a residence in the 500 block of Alder Street.

Assault

Witnesses reported a fight out behind a tavern moved inside the back door. An individual tried to break up the fight and was knocked down the back stairs and was unconscious when the police arrived. East Pierce transported the individual to a hospital.

July 19

Damage

Police took a report from the 1900 block of Main Street where an unknown subject threw a large rock at the front door of a business, breaking the glass door.
