Library offers paper folding class

Nov 16 2009

Children will learn the craft of origami during a free workshop at Buckley Pierce County Library, 123 S. River Ave., at 4 p.m. Friday.

At the “Join the Fold” event, children, ages 6 and older, will create origami ornaments and decorations for the holidays.

Origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, began hundreds of years ago and has developed into a popular art around the world. Origami artists strive to create a representation of an object using geometric folds and crease patterns, preferably without gluing or cutting the paper, and using only one piece of paper.

The Friends of the Buckley Library sponsor this free event.
