Enslow leads Richardson in Sumner mayor's race

If Election Night number hold true, Sumner Mayor Dave Enslow will remain in office another four years.
The incumbent mayor was challenged by City Councilman Matt Richardson but appears to have withstood the opposition. Preliminary numbers released by the Pierce County Elections Department showed Enslow with 54 percent of the vote, compared with Richardson’s 46 percent. The Tuesday night count was 463-399.
In the lone Sumner City Council race, Ed Hannus had secured 60 percent of the vote in his race against Stuart Scheuerman.
In Bonney Lake, the at large Position 1 council race showed Randy McKibbin leading Lynda Dabson 66 percent to 34 percent; in the Ward 1 race, Dan Swatman was leading Andy Gomen 56 percent to 44 percent; and in Ward 4, Donn Lewis had a slim lead over David Bowen, taking a fraction more than 50 percent of the vote.
Mayor Neil Johnson was running unopposed.
In races for the White River School Board, District 3 incumbent Denise Vogel had 62 percent of the vote, leading Kim Demarest; in the District 4 race, Cassandra Pearson had 62 percent of the vote, leading Joe Dieringer; in District 1, Michael Jansen was unopposed.
