What do you look for when evaluating candidates for public office?

Do you want someone who has a long-term vision and is willing to forego some issues now to ensure money is available for bigger long-term issues?

Or do you want someone who is focused on more short-term immediate problems?

The city crime rate is down and more police officers are being added to the police department based on last year
