Oct 20 2009
BELLEVUE — An Arlington-based cat shelter and sanctuary will soon be holding its annual fundraiser.
The Purrfect Pals Cat Shelter and Sanctuary will present its 12th Annual Black Cat Ball at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue on Oct. 24.
The ball serves as the biggest fundraiser of the year for the no-kill sanctuary, foster and hospice care center for homeless cats, said Black Cat Ball Co-Chair Dawn Ritter.
"I'm very excited about the number of auction items and the amazing donations we have received this year," Ritter said. "The auction is a great event for a great organization."
More than 500 auction items will be available during the ball, valued between $20 and several thousand dollars, she said.
A Gala dinner will take place.
Tickets are available at purrfectpals.org or by calling 360-652-9611 ext. 4. Donations are also accepted through the Web site and telephone number.
Purrfect Pals Cat Shelter and Sanctuary finds homes for more than 2,000 cats and performs more than 3,000 spay and neuter surgeries each year. More than 250 cats permanently live at the shelter, which was founded in 1988.
Since then, Purrfect Pals has facilitated the adoption of more than 24,000 cats.
The Meydenbauer Center is located at 11100 NE Sixth St., Bellevue WA.
