Fewer ballot drop-off locations for Nov. 3 general election

The number of community collection centers for ballot drop-offs in the Nov. 3 general election has been reduced from last year, to five staffed locations and one 24-hour ballot drop box.

Days of operation for the staffed sites have also been reduced, to Election Day and the day before, but voters can still return their ballots by mail.

These reductions are the result of required budget cuts in the Snohomish County Auditor's Office.

Voters who return their ballots by mail must make sure they're postmarked no later than Nov. 3. They may return their ballots postage free to any of the county's community collection centers, its 24-hour ballot drop box or the Auditor's Office.

Snohomish County conducts all of its elections entirely by mail. There are no polling locations. All voters should receive ballots at their current residential or mailing addresses starting Oct. 15.

The 24-hour ballot drop box is located on the Snohomish County campus, at the corner of Rockefeller Avenue and Wall Street in Everett. Ballots can be returned to this secure box until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

The Marysville Library, located at 6120 Grove St., is the community collection center nearest to Marysville and Arlington. It will be open to receive ballots the day before the election, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Election Day, Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Snohomish County Elections will have accessible voting equipment, designed for voters with disabilities, available in the Auditor's Office through Nov. 3. The Auditor's Office is located on the first floor of the Snohomish County Administration Building, at 3000 Rockefeller Ave. in Everett, and is open to the public Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will have extended hours on Election Day, Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters may check their registration status online at vote.wa.gov. Those already registered as active voters do not need to register again.
