Motorcycle rider killed in crash early morning June 25

SILVANA — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s collision detectives are investigating a crash that killed a 28-year-old motorcycle rider near Stanwood.

The crash happened just before 4 a.m. between 48th Ave. NW and Happy Valley Road, near Happy Hollow Road above Silvana.

The motorcycle clipped the mirror of an oncoming vehicle, then struck a pole and landed in a ditch. The driver/rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured, and no citations have been issued.

Detectives said the motorcycle appeared to be speeding at the time of the crash.

The motorcycle rider’s city of residence was not immediately available.
