Self-Check In comes to library

Last month, crews started installing a Self-Check In system at Bothell Regional Library. The system will replace the external book drops on the library’s north side, and the internal book drops inside the front doors. The new machines scan each item immediately and provide patrons a return receipt verifying the return date. Inside the library, the machine moves the items to presorted carts.

During installation, patrons may return materials into three large temporary book drops installed east of the front doors. The internal book drops inside the front doors will also be available until they are converted. Construction will block access to several of the parking spots on the north side to varying degrees.

King County Library System has Self-Check In systems currently installed in six libraries: Bellevue, Redmond, Federal Way Regional, Covington, Woodmont and Snoqualmie. Installation is expected to last into mid-November. Kenmore to

celebrate new History Path

The Kenmore Heritage Society and city of Kenmore will host a History Walk dedication ceremony to celebrate the new Kenmore History Path at Log Boom Park. The event will take place at 10 a.m. Oct. 11 at Log Boom Park.

Oktoberfest event is on the way

Arts of Kenmore will present its Oktoberfest event featuring Liz Dreisbach and her famous Ballard Sedentary Sousa Band at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Kenmore Community Club, 7304 N.E. 175th St. Fee of $15 per person and $8 for kids 12 and under will feature a traditional Bavarian lunch of sausages, potato salad, sauerkraut and more. St. Brendan

presents craft fair

The St. Brendan Parish School parent-teacher organization will present the school’s 29th annual holiday craft fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 8 and noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 9. The school is located at 10049 N.E. 195th St., Bothell. The event will feature more than 100 crafts people, a holiday gift raffle, kids craft room and an assortment of soups and baked goods. Free admission.
