Members sought for Capital Bond Planning Task Force

Volunteers needed to help define 2010 capital bond measure

Northshore Public Schools seeks applicants for the Capital Bond Planning Task Force (CBPTF) to prepare for the Board of Directors a recommendation of projects to be referred to voters for funding via a capital projects bond measure in 2010. More information and the application form are available at www.nsd.org or by calling 425-408-7670. Applications are due Nov. 26.

Currently there are three openings for parents/community members on the 14-member task force. These voluntary positions are appointed by the superintendent and last for about one year. The CBPTF is supported by district staff and generally meets on the second and fourth Thursdays, 5:30-7 p.m., January through June 2009.

Qualifications for CBPTF members include:

* Residence in the Northshore School District

* Experience in capital planning, financial planning, commercial construction and/or facility management or construction management, preferably in a public education environment

* Commitment to attend all task force meetings

* Ability to objectively prioritize projects working within a defined budget

* Effective listening skills and the ability to respect others’ opinions

* Ability to resolve differences in a positive and constructive manner

* Ability to compromise and build consensus

Northshore Public Schools serves 20,000 students in Bothell, Kenmore and Woodinville.
