Northshore Public Schools accepting applications for committees

Oct 01 2008

Northshore Public Schools seeks applicants for the Enrollment Demographics Task Force (EDTF) and the Curriculum Materials Adoption Committee (CMAC). More information about each group and the application form are available at www.nsd.org or by calling (425) 408-7670.

Applications are due by Oct. 14.

The EDTF currently has openings for three parents or community members on the 14-member task force. These voluntary positions are appointed by the board of directors and last for up to three years. The Northshore School Board established the EDTF in 2001 to assist district administration in their efforts to objectively respond to significant enrollment shifts that impact instructional program delivery and facility use.

The CMAC currently has openings on the 14-member committee for two parents of students currently enrolled in Northshore School District schools. The CMAC also includes teachers, administrators, a librarian and community members. These voluntary positions are appointed by the superintendent and last for three years.

The CMAC recommends all instructional materials for staff members and student use at Northshore schools following the curriculum adoption process established in Washington State law and Northshore School Board Policy 2020. These recommendations receive final approval from the Northshore School Board.
