Country, folk and blues singer Eilen Jewell will perform a free concert from 6-8 p.m. July 10 at St. Edward State Park as part of the Kenmore Summer Concert Series. Her emotional vocal and writing styles are compared to Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and June Carter Cash. The 27-year-old Boise, Idaho-born singer has been performing since the age of 19 and made her mark playing gigs in the Boston, Mass., area. Jewell released her latest album, “Letters from Sinners and Strangers,” in 2007. She is backed by her band: Jason Beek on drums, Jerry Miller on electric and steel guitar and Johnny Sciascia on upright bass.
