Three injured in exchange of gunfire early Thursday morning
Three people were injured in an exchange of gunfire early Thursday morning on Southwest Sunset Boulevard, according to the Renton Police Department.
None of the wounds was considered critical, according to Terri Vickers, a Police Department spokeswoman.
The shooting occurred at about 3 a.m. in the 2100 block of Southwest Sunset Boulevard.
Preliminary reports indicate two men in a white vehicle were driving around looking for one of the men’s girlfriend, who was in a vehicle with two other males, according to a Police Department news release.
The white vehicle pulled up behind the suspect vehicle, and two men in the suspect vehicle got out, pointed guns at the two men in the white vehicle and demanded their valuables.
One victim, 20, of Seattle ran from the white car and was shot; the other subject in the white car pulled out his gun and returned fire, according to police. The woman, 19, of Seattle sustained gunshot wounds as did the male who exited the white vehicle. Both were transported to Harborview Medical Center, where they were being treated for non-critical injuries.
Another man, 24, of Seattle arrived at Harborview shortly after with non-critical gunshot wounds and the investigation so far indicates it is likely he was in the second vehicle at the scene, according to police.
The other male in the suspect vehicle has not yet been identified.
Anyone who witnessed the crime or has knowledge of the incident is asked to contact Detective Barfield at 425-430-7500 reference case 14-6545.
Officers were at Harborview later Thursday morning; and the investigation was continuing and no suspects were in custody.
