Body of missing Auburn man recovered from White River

An Auburn man who had been reported missing Wednesday was discovered and pulled from the White River near Game Farm Park late Friday afternoon, Auburn police said.

On Saturday, authorities identified the victim as Kenneth Neil Collins, born in 1965.

The manager of Auburn's Windsor Park Apartments reported Collins missing to Auburn Police on Wednesday.

Officers searched the area but could not locate him.

On Friday, the man was discovered and a Valley Regional Fire Authority team recovered the body from the river. The man, who authorities initially said was is in his 40s, was found in the river around 4:20 p.m.

Police said Collins' apartment door had been left open. Collins had been seen walking around the complex, at 30th St. SE, Auburn, insufficiently dressed for the cold weather, police said.

Collins' mother lives in New Jersey and has been notified.

Authorities said there were no signs of foul play in his apartment or on Collins’ body.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine how the man died.
