Three men flee in vehicle after robbing Kirkland Wells Fargo; second bank hit in two days

A second Kirkland Wells Fargo Bank was robbed within two days Thursday morning.

Three men entered the bank at 6615 132nd Ave. N.E. wearing loose clothing and something covering their faces. Ayn S. Dietrich, a spokeswoman for the FBI, said two suspects jumped over the teller counter and one stayed in the lobby as they took an undisclosed amount of money.

Dietrich said her reports indicate there was no implication the men had weapons.

The men said to be between 5’7” and 5’8” and approximately 200 pounds took off in a vehicle.

Kiro 7 reports the Chevrolet Astro was recovered at a nearby apartment complex and was impounded by police. Kirkland police searched the apartment complex, the report continues, but believe the robbers got away in another vehicle.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The robbery is the second to occur within two days in Kirkland. A man robbed Wells Fargo Bank's Juanita branch on Wednesday night. However, Dietrich says the FBI does not think the two are connected.

“The M.O. (mode of operation) was very different,” Dietrich said. “Last night was one guy and he did have a weapon.”

Dietrich said both were verbal demands as opposed to communication through a note.
